About Amaris

Hi, I’m Amaris! I’m a believer in Jesus, strong marriages, healthy families, pink lipstick, journaling with colorful pens, speaking the hard truth, sleeping in (when I can), dancing so hard I’m sore the next day, and asking my husband do the dishes. I value relationships and love celebrating others. Honesty and transparency have made me the woman that I am today, and I don’t plan to live any other way.

My husband Nick and I have two small children, and one on the way! He works hard so I can stay home with the kids, keep my gazed fixed on my family, and the ministries that God has entrusted to us. I agree with Mother Teresa when she said: “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” So, you’ll find my normal day changing diapers, feeding my babes, and cleaning up after everyone. And I love every minute of it.

In 2015 God started to whisper ideas of writing. Naturally, at first, I said no. I didn’t finish college and had always confessed that school was not my thing. One of my biggest insecurities was writing and grammar, so much so, that for nearly six months I didn’t post on any social media platforms out of fear of my friends criticizing my grammar. But something weighed heavier on my heart than my fears and insecurities, the desire to help other women.
I went through a hard season of depression and anxiety, and as God showed me His truth through those seasons, I couldn’t help but want to share the victories that I had experienced. I wanted, and still want, my past to bring someone else a future. There is hope in the darkest of valleys that we experience; that hope is God. And that same God is right there with us in the peaks. He has been faithful to me through all my ups-and-downs, and if this ministry does anything, my prayer is that it inspires others to pursue Jesus with every fiber of them.

She Is Reclaimed came from the story of Mary of Bethany where she was completely free, and reclaimed. She was so free that she was able to wash Jesus’ feet with perfume and wipe it up with her hair. You can read my whole explanation here: Self-Discovery: reclaim the woman you were created to be.

Like Mary, we all have been marked by shame, doubt, rejection, and insecurity. And I’m here to share the truth that God can reclaim our lives for His glory! Reclaim means to retrieve or recover, and that’s exactly what Jesus offers us through His cross. He is retrieving us from our sins, and pasts, and redeeming our lives. We all have a purpose and a call on our lives, and I want us to live it out.

Live fully reclaimed with me! It’s an adventure and journey, and I want to bring every woman with me.
